These special 2-1/2 hour video coaching session will help you become more familiar with your video camera/camcorder.  You'll visit locations in San Francisco as you practice videotaping the sights of the holiday season.  Your Video Expert Chet Davis will be videotaping along with you, pointing out tips and suggestions to help you shoot better video.  And when you have questions on your camera - Chet is there to help you understand and learn. NOTE: This special session will be held Thursday and Saturday evening - please make sure you register for the date you prefer (via the pull-down menu in the registration form above).

We'll start at San Francisco's Union Square where Chet will provide some fundamental tips to capturing great video while shooting at night.  Together we'll capture action on the outdoor ice rink, views of the majestic buildings surrounding Union Square.

We'll head indoors and videotape the giant Gingerbread House and the interior decorations in the Hotel Saint Francis - then it's up to Nob Hill for some more holiday lights.  We'll visit the Fairmont San Francisco, with their festive indoor decorations and capture some great outside shots at Huntington Park. 

Then we're off to Embacadero Center... where the lights sparkle brightly inside the Hyatt Hotel.  Thousands of white lights cascade from the upper floors while life sized Nutcrackers guard the Christmas tree.  It's a great sight and you'll learn to capture these video memories with the expert teaching and coaching of Chet Davis.

It's a fun evening with some beautiful sights.

What's a Video Walkabout?

Imagine being out of doors, in a scenic location - plenty to videotape all around you... then add an experienced, expert teacher who works alongside you and your small group to help you get more comfortable with your video camera and basic camera skills.  That's what a Video Walkabout is!

 

 

Who Should Attend

Any person with a video camera/camcorder who is looking to get more familiar, more competent and more creative in your videos. If you've got a new video camera or had one for a few years and want to get more successful shooting video - this is a great opportunity for you! *Minimum age 18 years


What Equipment Do I Need for the Video Walkabout?

You'll need to bring your own video camera/camcorder with a charged battery and videotape or flash card. A camera tripod is optional but highly recommended! Bring layers to keep warm in the cool city air - and an umbrella/rain coat. If it rains our class will still meet, we'll just shoot mostly indoors.


Prerequisites
There is no prerequisite to attend or gain benefit from this session, though a basic understanding and experience with your video camera/camcorder will be helpful.  Some suggested video camera warm-ups will be sent to you once you register.
